Current Beauty Round-up

Each time I get round to a beauty post, it always ends up being a long list of new favourites. Without further ado, here's a list of new beauty bits I've been loving recently!

Nuxe Rêve de Miel
I've wanted to try this lip balm out for a long time. I tend to get very chapped lips in the winter and I'm so happy I splashed out on this in preparation. This is undoubtedly one of Nuxe's most famous products and it's not hard to see why! It has a soft, buttery texture which melts into the skin. It takes a long time to sink in, which is why it's better to apply this before you go to bed than in the morning. I wake up with softened and moisturised lips which stay hydrated most of the day. Of course I'm not a fan of the £9.50 price for a lip balm, but there's so much product in the little tub so I won't need to buy another one for a while.

Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm
Once recommended by a friend as a cheaper alternative to my beloved Clarins Éclat Minute (still so obsessed), I managed to pick one up last month. It has quite a strange formulation, a peachy opaque runny fluid. Although it feels thin you don't need a lot to cover the whole face. I like to either use this as an alternative to moisturiser in the morning if I don't have a lot of time to get ready, or as a base to brighten the face as a whole before applying primer. It's selling point is its versatility - sometimes in the morning I've only need to apply this, a primer then powder and I'm ready to go. It's often half price in Boots so no excuse to give it a go!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+
For those mornings where I have a little more time to get ready, this moisturiser is perfect for mornings. Wonderfully light, this sinks in quickly and balances out my complexion when its need a little more moisture, which will be perfect for chilly winter mornings. I've had this since June and I've still not finish with the product so it's clear that a little goes a long way!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara
Always one to miss out on the hype with new beauty releases, this was a huge favourite last year, seen as a close cousin to Benefit's Roller Lash, which I did actually try out on time for once! I prefer the brush on this mascara than Benefit's, as it seems to grab the lashes more. It delivers a lovely fanned-out effect and curls, which is one of the factors I look for in a mascara (thanks stubby straight lashes). Even more crucially, the curl needs to hold all day, which I'm pleased to report that it does!

Makeup For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer
I've tried my fair share of redness correcting primers, with little success until now. If you've read my blog for a while you'll know that I have quite sensitive skin which is partial to flare ups, particularly on my cheeks. When I spotted this in Sephora on holiday, with some spare euros left over, I thought I would treat myself. On first try I wasn't a massive fan, and I realise after that I hadn't left it long enough to sink in to have an effect. I have since fallen in love! Unlike some green-tinted products, the formula is very light, meaning that it blends into skin very quickly without leaving a trace of colour behind. It keeps my complexion looking even and hydrated all day. I have recently only been using this primer along with moisturiser and powder and my skin still looks fresh. My sticking point about this is the price and I'm dreading having to buy this again, especially as a poor student (cries).

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi
Every girl in this world and their cat should've heard of these by now, and I'm rather obsessed with them. They are quite frankly the perfect product for lazy people who can't be bothered with high-maintenance lips. They have great pigmentation and staying power, they're comfortable to wear and they're affordable. You really can't go wrong with these!
